Hello everybody, last year in March I bought a used C4 Picasso 2013 with a faulty top screen. It had black dead spots all over it. I knew it is a common problem on these displays and got a great deal over it.
Since Citroen wants a lot of money for a new assembly and it will fail again eventually I tried to find a company that repairs them. I got lucky and found someone who knows this problem. They replaced the LCD part of the display and on top of that replaced some memory modules and other parts that fail on this type of display.
Unfortunately, the display after 14 months shows a new fault which I did not find any information about. After a long trip, we stopped to get a coffee and upon starting again, the screen was brighter (had a white hue over it). It was brighter than the maximum setting. I tried to go to the settings and lower it but it seems unnatural and still has a white hue over it. It did the same thing for 3 days that the white hue popped up after the second start with a warm engine. Since then it has a white hue even with cold engine.
Did anyone encounter this problem?
I tried to do few things:
1) restart the car by disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes
2) dissassemble the screen and check if the connectors are secured
3) updating SMEG to the latest version
None of these helped.

Re: C4 Picasso 13 - White hue over top screen
Nobody encountered this?
Today the display was working fine for one ride. I am parking in a garage so sensor turns ON headlight at every start and display is dimmed (as it should be at night). Right now I have brightness turned all the way down because of the white hue. When I leave the garage and when it is sunny, the sensor turns off headlight after about 50 m. But today it was raining heavily so headlighs were still ON but the display turned brighter than in the garage (in night mode) and it looked normal.
I parked the car and about hour later, on my way back, it got sunny and the car started with headlights off and display overbrightened like on photos above.
So it worked properly only once and I think it is not a display problem. Could it be a sensor problem?

Hi,
I haven't encountered the white hue issue. However I think I have the same problem with the dark spots (see images attached) that you've been describing. I can't read the total trip length anymore
Could you tell me a bit more about the fix? How expensive and foremost who was capable to unmount/replace the screen? Difficult?

These vehicles have issues with the displays and many have been replaced under warranty. So if you have warranty, I would get it to the dealer as soon as possible as new screens can cost about £1130.00! There is no fix, they are faulty and need replacing. Depending on how old your car is, it may still be worth contacting your Citroen dealer to see if they will replace it under good will even if warranty has run out, as it is an issue they should be aware of.

This is pretty common problem on C4 Picasso. If you have a car in warranty go to the dealer as soon as possible. They will change it. If you don't have a warranty the display costs around 850 GBP (without work). You can change the display yourself. It is quite easy. But new unit will have to be programmed which you can't do without diagnostics. The biggest problem is that even new displays are faulty, and this problem can occur again!
In my country I found service shop who is repairing car ECUs and infotainments, and they repaired it for 570 GBP (430 GBP was parts and rest was work). They say there are some faulty components on the electrical board (something like memory chips) which causes display to malfunction and develop these dead spots.
Unfortunatelly this problem is not related to mine. The overbrightness has nothing to do with the display.

That was an old price - it has gone up way more than that now for a replacement! £1130.00 is just the cost of the replacement display, and excludes labour and configuration time.

Have you managed to solve this problem? I have the same problem with overbrightness on my new replacement screen.

Hello, unfortunately not. I have been to three car electricians and nobody has a clue. Every parameter seems to be normal, but the screen is still overbright.

Thank you for answering! I have the problem since I put a replacement screen I bought for cheap from 2017 Picasso... My original screen has burn in circles... I just changed the screen, the housing is still my original. I have no idea what to do now... On Aliexpress there are some cheaper screens like this one:Arkis wrote: 17 Mar 2024, 12:08 Hello, unfortunately not. I have been to three car electricians and nobody has a clue. Re: C4 Picasso 13 - White hue over top screen
Seems like I found out the problem. Thanks to "Rick4hun" from MHHAuto.
The service who repaired my display likely put bad display in my unit. They are all labeled as "LLB123LT01" but have different connectors.
The older version has 10 pins on the smaller connector. Newer version has 6+3 pins on the smaller connector. You can see which type you have by the board in the unit.
This is older 10 pin connector board. This is newer 6+3 pin connector board. The newer version does not have MAX16814 module on the board.
You can see it in the upper section here above the connector. So right now I have a 10 pin board with 6+3 pin LCD screen and it is probably the cause of the problem.
The problem is I can't find anybody who is selling 10 pin LCD screens on aliexpress. There are multiple seller who have photos of them in the listing but when asked for authentic photo, it is a 6+3 LCD screen.
