Re: DS5 Hybrid alarm problem
There's no replacement instructions available, so I would just locate it under the front wing somewhere, possibly behind the wheel arch protection, so unless you can see it, it could be hidden around there. Make sure you follow the BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure before replacing it to avoid electrical issues.

Re: DS5 Hybrid alarm problem
Hi. An update. So, replaced the siren.. that was an interesting job. But, it is done.
Now, the siren does not go off when ever it feels like it.
New problem. You can be driving the car and the the indicators can flash for now reason as if the hazard lights are on but faster.. as in... when the alarm goes off. But there is no noise from the siren. The car does not cut out and if you press the volumetric alarm button, it has not effect on the flashing. Eventually after a time, ranging from 30 odd seconds to a minute, it will stop flashing.. Might do it again on the same journey.. might not.
Observations... the volumetric alarm button red light can and will flash when you are driving. I cant seem to stop it flashing no matter how long i keep it pressed... or do short presses.. or a number of different combinations.
My assumption then is that the alarm module is my next replacement part?
Part number 9665582380.
When I look in diagbox, where it says software version for the module (no faults logged incidentally) there appear three question marks only. Maybe it is now corrupt.
Is there a later module that supersedes the one above? for instance:
9673523380
Car is running well.. no faults apart from the start belt says its worn.. will be doing that once i have a belt, saw where it was as i did the siren, easy enough.. just got to get round to it (visual inspection showed belt to be good)
Did a clutch and box reset and alignment and car drives a lot nicer... any other tips on the hybrid that might be good? We should compile a list..

Re: DS5 Hybrid alarm problem
Pressing the alarm button whilst driving will do nothing - it is only used to switch of volumetric protection after switching off the ignition by holding it down until the light goes solid and exiting the vehicle and locking it. Used primarily if you have passengers in the car or a dog and nip into a shop for a short while - to prevent the internal air displacement sensors from triggering.
As for the indicators flashing, that may be alarm related if the module is faulty.

Re: DS5 Hybrid alarm problem
cannot find the alarm ecu at all in the glove box area. Have had it pulled apart but could not see it at all. I dont think it is behind the bsi and really did not want to disturb it at all... so if anyone has any clues?

That's the general location - they do not change. It could well be behind or up and to the side somewhere there, but that is the location. They don't make it easy to access on purpose for obvious reasons that you don't want a thief to be able to get at it easily to disable it.

Re: DS5 Hybrid alarm problem
ok.. to be clear... I'm in the UK. So, is it my UK glove box? or do I have to go and pull apart the UK drivers side? Just in case that was the issue!!!! In other words.. I pulled apart the left hand side of the car.. if you were sitting inside facing forward...

Re: DS5 Hybrid alarm problem
There's no change and the only diagram is as per my first post, and although they show this for a left hand drive vehicle these things are generally replicated exactly regardless of driving position. This includes the BSI and fuses which although tightly crammed in is also on the LHD in the same place. RHD drive models which have the glovebox there, are generally a lot more accessible. Here the image is show for location using a LHD model - there is no RHD diagram which tells you it is in the same place. If not located near the BSI then it will be behind the dash, maybe above and the right of the BSI and may need part of the fascia removing to locate it.

Re: DS5 Hybrid alarm problem
Hello everyone again!
So, after a spell of the car being ok, the alarm issue is back!!!! I cannot switch the alarm off! Now, this time i have Diagbox. Of course... no use... as i get communications error with the alarm module. So, it is definitely the alarm module... if i cant get to it.. it must be having issues.
Now, many of you may have remembered me asking for the modules location. I pulled the passenger side apart (UK car) and could not find anything. I had a very little look around the drivers side, not up to the display.. but I cannot find it still. Has anyone got any further pointers? the car is currently disconnected from the battery and I am waiting for the siren (which i replaced last time but hasnt fixed it obvs..) to run out of battery...
the noise has made me very tense!!!!!!!
I actually have a spare alarm module but i couldnt replace it.. i really want to!!

It's designed not to be easy to get to. It's the little box in blue.
