Xantia speedometer problems

Hello,
I have a problem with my xantia x1 speedometer.
It doesn't show anything before reaching around around 70km\h ,after that its usually working.
My question is what can be the cause of this behavior?

Yes ,on both counter.

Most likely the solder joints connecting the speedometer to the instrument cluster pcb are cracked. Can be easily fixed by taking the cluster out and resoldering the 4 connections. I have done it before when I had an similar fault (getting stuck around 70km/h). Getting the steering wheel off was the biggest pain (airbag), everything else is fairly quick work (assuming someone hasn't taken everything apart before and broken all the plastics). i had my fuel meter problem. the soldering by the pins were cracked by the dashboard. by resoldering is solved the problem.

If the Xantia is a series 2 the steering wheel does not have to come off (despite what the Haynes manual says!). I have had to replace light bulbs in the instrument panel, and (after I was 'corrected' by this forum) I was able to get the job done with the steering wheel in place.
