C5 X7 Electric Parking Brake Module

Unread post by ds21h »

Hello does anyone know where I can buy the EPB module that the cables attach to please.

I don't need the cables as I have new ones but the plastic gears inside the module are stripped.

Part number PSA 9674099780

Many thanks

Hi Mark

Citroen do not sell the components - only the entire module unfortunately.

The handbrake module is part 1612865480 and is £1133.45 UK inc. VAT.

Also, be aware that this replacement part deletes the unlocking tool.

So have a search on 1612865480. There is a Chinese version on Ali Express - no idea of its quality or anything but at £134 it might be worth a pop if you can't turn anything else up - especially if you just need parts. I think it comes complete with cables, but maybe worth a check!

Hi Marc thanks for the reply.

The Ali express one looks fine but who knows, but they want 432 euro delivery to France. I'll look to see if I can get it delivered elsewhere as it considerably cheaper to other european countries.

Can you please explain about the deletion of the unlocking tool. ie what is that, ?
thanks

I think that all replacement units supplied in aftersales no longer include the emergency release cable that goes back into the cabin inside the centre armrest that can be pulled to release the hand brake in an emergency. Don't ask me how it would be manually released otherwise though! :-D

Ok many thanks for your help again.

Ordered a chinese one as it must be a better option than a used one that is already 10 years old.

Interesting link to the AliExpress replacement. They reckon it also fits the Peugeot 508 but I thought I asked a few weeks ago if they were the same and you said no.

Exactly...

Different parts numbers, but of course I can’t tell you what’s inside the module as the whole unit is sold complete.

So maybe the inside is the same, but the differences are elsewhere, such as the attached cables, lengths etc. on the 508. As we know if the parts are identical PSA use the same part number.

Hello! Does it work for you? Unfortunately, not for me. I also ordered this version from China. But it does not communicate with the computer.

Hello, finally got the Chinese part delivered last week.
Firstly the cables on it are incorrect for my vehicle so I have replaced them with the correct cables ordered from Poland.

Secondly as beresattila1 says above the unit will not communicate with the BSI.

Mark, despite 5 types of PSA part numbers for the EPB on the X7, there is now only one replacement part provided for any of the C5 X7s with EPBs. This part number is: 1612865480.

The original PSA part numbers varied according to the build date, but as the model is no longer made, only this number I have provided will be offered in spare parts. It may, or may not come with the emergency release cable, as I understand this may of been dropped from later models.

The numbers you have in your links are not the internal PSA numbers, but are likely one of the longer PSA-equivalent part numbers for vehicles with different build dates, hence the difference. So if you find 1612865480, this is what is now provided as a replacement for the X7 so will be suitable.

Hi Marc, thanks for the reply.

The second hand parts suppliers use the old PSA part numbers, not the later one you have quoted.

If I source one from 2009 should it work on my 2013 model, even if the PSA number is different.

Citroen quoted me 1550.57 euro today just for the part.

Thanks

Unfortunately Citroen don't sell the internal parts, which are the bits that often fail. I think Mike recently had some of the cables made, but was selling some here as he needed a minimum order.

Here's the link to the post in the For Sale / Wanted section that might be of interest.

I don't have your VIN so would need this to double check. Pop it up here (automasked on post submission).

Hi all,

I am very new to this type of forum and absolutely do not know if it is still live or something :?

I am looking for exactly the same EPB module for mx C5 X7 and I am wondering if is info in this thread still valid in 2023. More specifically, if is there still the same part number as a replacement EPB module. I can provide any additional details if necessary.

Many thanks,
Jakub
