Rear strout/cylinder rubber protector for C5X7???
Hi.
Does anyone know where to get rubber protector for rear strout on C5X7 (Hydractive 3+). Right one is broken but citroen doesn't sell that part at all (just as a complete replacement set with new strout)????
Part 10 or 16 on attached foto...

No, as you say Gregor, unlike earlier models that had separate boots, these are all-in-one struts and the rubber I believe, is bonded!

This is an unproven suggestion, but, is it repairable with bicycle innertube repair patches?

Re: Rear strout/cylinder rubber protector for C5X7???
Maybe it could be, but access is problematic without striping all down. Too much of work for test only purposes only .... I was hoping that someone knows if any company is producing this as a spare part, but looks like no one does.

Will one from an earlier model fit?GiveMeABreak wrote: ↑15 Oct 2021, 21:57 No, as you say Gregor, unlike earlier models that had separate boots, these are all-in-one struts and the rubber I believe, is bonded!
Cut the damaged one off and fit the replacement with suitable clips or adhesive.

I can't see that working Stu - they are completely different sizes and apart from that, the older C5s had leak back pipes with the connections on the boots - the X7 doesn't.

Block off the leak-back pipes or holes that they leave?

But the earlier ones are just not long enough....
Best of luck though if you are going to try it.

Re: Rear strout/cylinder rubber protector for C5X7???
The suggestion was more in hope than expectation. I'll not suggest gluing two together to get the extra length then...

Apart from the knots could do with being a bit tighter or even doubled.

I wonder if a steering rack gaiter could be adapted, some of them are quite long and around the same diameter.
