Re: Fault
Hi, not really, not without a diagnostic being done - electrical errors can be any multitude of issues, so a proper diagnostic with modern cars is really essential these days to get some pointers.

Re: Fault
Thank you I had a battery swap at halfords yesterday and asked them if they had programed the car to the battery. They said you didn't need to, after a bit of back and to they put it on the computer and it has 3 faults.
B1624 supplies protection and management unit central Power switch positive relay status fault
B162C accessories positive relay control and status not coherent
C1406 engine or power steering calculator overtemperature not characterised
I think it will need to go to the main dealer

Re: Fault
B1624 has 2 more numbers after the main fault - these determine whether the relay fault is because it is open or closed. But in either case the relays are the issue.
As for the power steering fault - this is due to an overheating condition of either the Power Steering ECU or the Power Steering Motor. Whilst this fault is active PS assistance can be reduced by 60%. So you may experience it being stiffer to turn.
I would first get the relays looked at as there may be a lack of power getting to the PS ECU as a result of a knock on effect and it trying to work harder on reduced power...

Re: Fault
I had the same problem. I got a charging fault message. I was getting 14.45 v with the engine running. Left it for a week and it was dead. Got a diagnosis of the BPGA unit. It has a relay which is shorting to earth and draining the battery. A very crude check is to flip the positive clamp on the battery. I got a spark which was bigger than it should be, possibly showing something is draining it. I was losing about .5v per day.

Re: Fault
Hi guys,
i have a similar problem on my citroen c4 picasso 2015.
It was showing me an electrical fault when starting. After a few days the battery died. After charging, everything is ok no massage. I go to the service center, they say the fault is BPGA2010. More specifically, B1624 73 (Central power switch plus relay status error). Apparently, I need to replace the entire module because they can't fix it. What do you suggest, should I try to replace only the relay or ...?
Thanks

Re: Fault
These modules are usually self-contained and if there's a fault the unit should be replaced. They're not designed to be taken apart.Sele001 wrote: ↑20 Dec 2022, 18:07 Hi guys,
