C4 VTS converting to RT4 and LCD screen

Post by lancia58 »

Hi

I have the opportunity to buy genuine RT4 + LCD. See photo

Image

Since I do not have the VIN of the donner C4 I wonder what else is needed but the LCD , RT4 and the associated harnesses. Looking at Citroen Doc Backup It seems there are two options
One without amplifier

and one with amplifier item 25 in the following picture. Is the MULTIMEDIA SOFTWARE CD ( item 60 in the picture ) is essential ?

Is there anyway to know what is needed in order to grant that the RT4 and LCD will function on my C4

Thanks

You will need the correct electrical harnesses, GPS aerials, GSM Aerials, Microphone (forget the one in the roof - that is integrated) and you will need it configuring to your vehicle's VIN and all the additional features that you have.

The CD is just the System operating firmware.

Hi

If the Cell phone is paired with the RT4 why a GSM aerials are needed ? BTW which is better the genuine RT4 and LCD or an Android system ( including all ) out of Aliexpress ? Why a CD with System operating system is delivered ?

Thanks

The Cell phone is not paired with the RT4!

There is no Bluetooth on these. The RT4 uses a SIM card that is inserted in the front of the head unit - opposite side to the red SOS button. This uses a GSM aerial connection to provide phone connectivity, emergency calling etc.

You are just showing parts diagrams - these are spare part numbers - it is not what is delivered with the system, that is for the dealers to order the correct firmware CD if needed or other replacement parts - you mustn't read this as a retail consumer - it is dealer information.

What you buy is really down to what you want. Be prepared that you may lose some functionality if you use an aftermarket head unit and you may lose the ability to activate / deactivate some car features.
