Hi all..
How early was jukebox offered. Was it offered earlyer then 2007. I have a 2006 Exclusive with sat nav but no jukebox. I have a jukebox headunit but rear connections are completely different abviously donating van and can systems..
So can I get an earlyer headunit that supports jukebox or is it completely a no go..
THE reason I don't want the car clogged up with cds.. And id upgrade the hard drive to C. F memory card. It would also make the whole thing work faster

Re: C5 Facelift 2005 jukebox
Hi Paul
This is where it can be a bit confusing.
Let's look at the C5 MK II. The original RT3 units were available in VAN or CAN versions and additionally, had fibre optic cables to the multifunction screen, and looked like this:
However sometime in 2007 they implemented the RT4 - that also looked identical to the above picture - hence the confusion.
The later RT4 / RT5 units as fitted to later vehicles looked like this:
So The RT3 had no Jukebox function.
The RT4 units did, regardless of which image above.
So you issue is whether you could fit an older style RT4 unit into your C5 II. Answer is probably yes, as long as you have compatible wiring and a compatible screen. If you have the older RT3 screen with fibre optic connections then you will need to change that no doubt.
Knowing your car is a 2006 model, then it will surely have the RT3 unit fitted with fibre optic connections to the screen. Although being 2006, very likely to be CAN architecture and not the VAN version.
So as far as I can see, it is going to be down to Cables / loom & Screen.

Re: C5 Facelift 2005 jukebox
Hi Paul - please do pop the 2006 vehicle VIN up - I can then see if I can compare against both my old C5 II with RT3 and a later model regarding the connection.

Re: C5 Facelift 2005 jukebox
Ok, so your vehicle and my old C5 II have exactly the same RT3 units and yes, they have fibre optic connections. That cable in the photo is not the same and looks like a standard LVDS cable connection probably used in the later RT4 units.
So that means that your current colour display screen won't work with the newer unit you are attempting to fit.
Here is a table that summarises the differences in the units.
As you can see, the RT3 units have fibre optic connections and the screens are not compatible with the RT4.

Re: C5 Facelift 2005 jukebox
The other issue to consider is the aerials and cables.
On some models the RT3 had a 'Diversity' box, fitted somewhere under the glovebox. This may be why you seem to have fewer aerial connections than the RT4 unit.
The diversity unit is used mainly by the twin tuner function.
The diversity unit permits an improved quality of reception by means of the connection of two radio aerials. The second aerial continuously searches for a better reception frequency than the first aerial and the diversity unit makes the choice to take the frequency offering the best quality in order to transfer it to the RT3 radiotelephone. So you'll find most of the aerial connections from the roof aerial go back to this box and from there to the RT3 unit.
