Lord JCB is dealing with potholes

It looks like (if Lord Bamford has his way) potholes may become a thing of the past. While those of us who drive hydro-pneumatic Citroens may not be seriously affected by potholes, drivers of less refined vehicles find that potholes can detract from the quality of their driving experience.

Must just say that the problem of lingering and recurrent potholes is a peculiarly UK one.
The problem is just about unknown here in Spain, even in areas where climate and road conditions are similar to Britain.
When a rare pothole does get repaired here, the repair is done manually (traditional dig out and fill), but the repairs appear to last pretty much for ever after that.
I suspect that the UK tarmac producers and suppliers are delighted with the never-ending business, and, unless Bamford's machine is going to use a revised infill mix, the problem of durability will not change.
Travelling across Europe for 50+ years now, we've never had to put up with such awful tarmac road repairs as the UK.
