It looks like (if Lord Bamford has his way) potholes may become a thing of the past. While those of us who drive hydro-pneumatic Citroens may not be seriously affected by potholes, drivers of less refined vehicles find that potholes can detract from the quality of their driving experience.

Re: Lord JCB is dealing with potholes
Must just say that the problem of lingering and recurrent potholes is a peculiarly UK one.
The problem is just about unknown here in Spain, even in areas where climate and road conditions are similar to Britain.
When a rare pothole does get repaired here, the repair is done manually (traditional dig out and fill), but the repairs appear to last pretty much for ever after that.
I suspect that the UK tarmac producers and suppliers are delighted with the never-ending business, and, unless Bamford's machine is going to use a revised infill mix, the problem of durability will not change.
Travelling across Europe for 50+ years now, we've never had to put up with such awful tarmac road repairs as the UK.

Bad tarmac repairs, no. Heavy unexpected snow falls, however...white exec wrote: ↑11 Jan 2021, 17:29Must just say that the problem of lingering and recurrent potholes is a peculiarly UK one.

Re: Lord JCB is dealing with potholes
Really? So why do the exact same holes keep re-appearing?

I meant your 'Spain' part of the post, where you DON'T have bad repairs!
