C15 speedo drive pinion

Post by revitup »

Hi. Just trying to seek advice. Needing to replace speedo drive pinion parts to my year 2000 C15, i believe it's the XUD7 engine. However my search for these on normal sites eg: Ebay etc is to no avail. Any help as to where i may obtain these parts would be great. speedo cable is ok, as is sensor. Just after parts in enclosed photo, or if interchangeable with other engines ?. Many thanks.

The good news is that those parts are still available from Citroen.

Thank you very much. Just tried to get through to parts at local Dealership to find they are closed to public until 2nd December due to covid. Will try again when they open, once again thanks for your help.

That's good to know Chris :)

I have a flickery speedo on my Daffodil... When I replace the driveshafts I'll be checking the health of my speedo drive pinion...

That's odd.
Pop up your VIN, and I'll take another look. My first check was without a specific VIN.

Hi, and thanks for trying to help. My VIN number is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]. I am finding it impossible to find these parts. Any advice greatly accepted. Thank you. Ian.

Hi Ian,

Thanks for posting the VIN.
Have done a check with that, and both parts (pinion and screw) are shown as still available.
Some dealers can be unhelpful at times, but just go armed with the info (parts page recommended) and ask them to order the parts for you.

Am happy to post the part numbers and parts diagram, but forum rules do mean you'd need to make a small donation for that info, which will also allow us to post other parts info for you for this year and next, for any of your Citroens/Peugeots.
A response to your question by a forum admin will require detailed vehicle information that requires you to have made a current contribution to the Forum.

JFI, you have a...
C15
XUD7
manual 5-speed
RHD
PAS
Bosch fuel injection
mfg date 5 June 1998, but warranty running from 1.3.2000, so likely one of those many Citroens that hung around for a while between factory and first registration
