C5 X7 moving parking sensor display to dash

Post by Xantippa »

I would like to move parking sensor display from navi-display to the display between speedo and rpm. How to do this with diagbox? Car is exclusive, so this is possible, and it´s stock behaviour in car´s with RD4-radio.

With RD4 the parking sensor display is on the multifunction screen, not the dash screen:

The only Instrument Panel display relating to parking is the Parking Space Gap Measurement:

I had exclusive with RD4, and parking sensor display was in dash (color display). Now with MyWay parking sensor display is on navi screen.

Also found this on youtube, but language is wrong:

If you look closely, that is for the C5 X7 made in China. It's not the same vehicle as the European models. Changing something there may have an knock-on impact on other systems (same as Japan - different head units for cars exported to Japan).

My -08 Exclusive wasn´t made in China.

Reason for doing this is that I think parking sensor display would work better on car´s own display, rather than on aftermarket Android-HU. And also better view for rear view camera - without parking sensor display on top of it.

I know - but the setting on that video is intended for the Chinese X7 which is made in China...

I think I saw on this forum or elsewhere that someone has done this also. Clearly it´s an option you can select depending on what dash display (color or monochrome) and what headunit car has. I think only car´s with color dash display and non-navi HU have got parking sensor display on dash display by default.

No Marko, the RD4 units have the parking display on the multifunction screen above the Head Unit (and I'm referring to the Monochrome Orange EMF 'C' display). It was never an option on European based models to have it on the instrument display.

OK, now I found it. Some guy on Finnish Citroen-forum had already done it after changing HU to car-pc, just waiting for instructions.

This has been now done and working like a charm. It was quite easy. That china-option is same as other, it doesn´t only ask about DRL deactivation possibility before entering dash-configuration menu. I guess this is because china-cars don´t have DRL? I also deactivated navi-display at the same time, because after market navi doesn´t talk with car "that way".

I also changed parking sensor sound to be emitted from switch module under steering wheel, and set navigation system as not present under BSI-configuration.
