Hi
i'm new to psa diy repairs and i been searching for a wiring diagram/ module pinouts
for a c4 1.6 hdi 2008 vin: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
the steering column wiper/lights module which also has the key barrel antennae is not in control
and using a cheap bluetooth vci i am reading an immobilizer fault on the bsi.
the vci during global scan seems to have a generic list of modules to scan
and skipping those which are physically not fitted however it is also skipping
those that are fitted but are not being detected.
airbag, abs and steering column module.
BSm comes back ok with no faults.
I plan to get a lexia unit soon.
I would like to check the communication lines to these modules
if someone can help with a diagram please
thanks
dan

Re: c4 1.6hdi comms ,
What is the actual problem with the car? Is it starting?
Does the horn work?

Re: c4 1.6hdi comms ,
No starting ..engine does not crank.
Wipers and headlights stay on once battery is connected.
No horn or audio controls working at steering wheel either

Re: c4 1.6hdi comms ,
For wiring diagrams I need the RP number found on the tyre pressure sticker, engine code (5th, 6th & 7th digits of VIN), what gearbox it has (manual, Auto or EGS?), does it have ESP or not?
Can you do a quick check first? do a resistance check across pins 6 & 14 of the diagnostic socket & see what reading you get?

He has a C4 5 DOOR SALOON 1.6 HDi 110 Manual gearbox 5 (DV6TED4 WITHOUT FAP), standard manual 5 speed gearbox and ESP.

Re: c4 1.6hdi comms ,
Thanks
The number in that row is 1119688
Its a 5 speed manual with esp
I post back the resistance later

Re: c4 1.6hdi comms ,
great, that suggests the CAN high lines are OK.
All the systems have there own diagrams so i have posted the headlamps diagram for starters, It shows the main supplies & data lines. CV00 is the com2000 unit.

Re: c4 1.6hdi comms ,
Thank you for posting.
I picked up a used comm2000 it was not too expensive cant say for sure if it working though.
The immob fault i think is due to comm2000 being down and not detecting the key.

Re: c4 1.6hdi comms ,
What is strange though is the immobiliser does not inhibit the starter motor.

Re: c4 1.6hdi comms ,
i'm having to leave this for long periods but got back to it yesterday. Got a spare matching bsm.
On the comm2000 the comm wires seem ok and i have 12volts supply there also.
I ran a test wire to starter solenoid and engine cranks well.
Since the abs/esp unit was one the modules not being detected and 'skipped' on the global scan i found that after 5 seconds following ignition on I have no 12volts to the heavy wires at the top of the connector pin 25 blue and pin 1 yellow.
If i feed wire cm06p from the grey plug on the bsm:
the relay comes on and ABS/esp powers up and is then present in the global scan.
the power steering module also reappears on scan,
and the speedo display no longer goes to ' ---' and stays at 0.
modules still not seen during scan include the comm2000 and the airbag module.
I would like to check supply and data lines to the airbag module.
if possible a schemactic of the networks would help a lot.
thanks

Re: c4 1.6hdi comms ,
had to abandon this for months until after xmas. I thought I'd post the conclusion.
Car is now driving.
Issue was a bsi fault. I fitted a cheap used matching bsi aware of the odo displaying
the highest value and it not being pin matched to ecu. The age of the car I didn't really mind.
Comms were then ok.
I fitted the orignal bsi eeprom to the donor bsi. which is a bit of a fiddle with the double decker circuit boards
but didn't have the gear to clone.
