Front break pads for C5 2013

Unread post by C5_Jack »

Hello All

I need to do my front brake pads for my 2013 C5.

Which pad would you recommend?

Is it is relatively easy job? Do i need "Lexia"

Cheers

You don't need Lexia Jack, but do need the specific wind push back tool for the pistons.

As for choice I've only ever had originals fitted, so can't comment on other brands.

Handbrake on the back on an X7, surely the fronts just press in, no wind back tool needed?

Leave the pads in and lever the piston (using the old pads) with a screwdriver, then a 3/8 socket extension (or whatever fits) between the 2 pads.

This is my home made pad pusher, it's a bit of Triumph Herald suspension link and I've been using it since disk brakes became popular on everyday cars.

How very appropriate. IIRC one of the great advertising features of the Triumph Herald was that it had disc brakes fitted as standard. Might have been the 12/50, rather than the original 1200, but they had disc brakes long before Minis did.
