Citroen xsara picasso 2002 2.0 hdi no lights working (Resolved)

Hi, can someone help please? I switched on my headlights and they didn't come on. I then got out and looked at the side lights, same thing. I went to the back of the car and there were no tail lights either. I checked the fuses and all are ok. What could possibly be wrong please?

Ok, so there are multiple fuses for this model for the lighting:

Inside cabin Fusebox (BH12)

F29 10A main beam + LH main beam
F30 10A RH main beam - main beam warning lamp
F31 10A dipped beam + LH dipped beam
F32 10A RH dipped beam - dipped beam warning lamp
F33 10A headlamp height corrector
F34 10A + VV LH front sidelamp - rear LH sidelamp - number plate lamps - information + VV ; built-in systems interface - rotary connector - sidelamps +
F35 10A RH front sidelamp - rear RH sidelamp

I would double check the fuses - and actually test them - not just a visual look. - but specifically check F34 as that fuse also powers the BSI which controls a lot of the systems.

Now if all these check out, then the other possibility is the control unit under the steering wheel (which the lighting stalk plugs into). This unit contains the electronics for all the lighting. When they go, they can cause odd behaviour, like indicator lights playing up, headlamps coming on / going off randomly etc.

This vehicle doesn't have a COMMS Unit, but the lighting control unit seen below does control the lighting.

It is Citroen part number: 625373

A new one from Citroen is not badly priced at £89.52 inc. VAT - but that is brand new / against the price of a used one that is at least as old as yours for half the price......

There are a few used ones - but how long they will last or what condition they are in is potentially a problem.

What other exterior lights work/don't work? Do the tell tales come on the dash when the lights are switched on?
The changeover to Com2000 light switching came in around late 2001 to early 2002, to operate your horn do you push the centre of the steering wheel or a button on the end of one of the stalks?

EDIT: If the last diagram above is accurate then it looks like a non Com2000 model.

Without the above diagrams I would never have known which fuses to check.

I have now solved the problem which was at fuse 34. I had previously tested all the fuses with a multimeter and all were ok so I thought I would see if any were corroded. When I got to fuse 34 I found that it was not blown or corroded but when I took it out it seemed loose. I got a little screwdriver and bent the contacts closed, refitted the fuse and now all works as it should.
