Hi everyone.
Anyone ever attempted to replace the rear left wheel ABS sensor on a C6 with loungepack? Do I need to drop the dieseltank to get to the plug or is it relatively straightforward?
Kind regards
Corne

It looks like a 'remove diesel tank' job Corne.....
Then after that:
Partially open windows
Disconnect the battery:
BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure
Raise and support the vehicle, with the rear wheels hanging free.
Remove the fuel tank
Refitting:
Avoid contact on the head of the wheel sensor
Note: Grease the body of the wheel sensor (grease - Type TOTAL N4128).
Refit:
Position the fuel tank, using a lifting tool a few centimetres from the bodywork.
On the left-hand side
Reconnect the battery (see procedure).

Re: Citroën C6 rear ABS sensor
Ok, goes without saying, if lifting off the grounds with wheels unsupported (hanging), suspension on high, remove LDS cap before lifting - then after job is complete, lower to ground, lower suspension back to normal and replace LDS cap (risk of tank bursting).

Re: Citroën C6 rear ABS sensor
I’ve done one on mine previously. With the tank in place it’s nigh on impossible unless you remove the back seat.
Even with the seat removed you still can’t clip the cable into the guides on top of the diesel tank.
Dropping the diesel tank isn’t a bad job, it’s just time consuming. Follow the guide above and you’ll be fine.
David.

Re: Citroën C6 rear ABS sensor
Thanks Marc/David
I delved in today. I broke just about very single 10mm spanner bolt which in conjunction with a myriad of clips holds the undershields in place... Rust is such an evil thing, our cars the same age as my C6 doesn't have nearly the rust the C6 has, blasted saltroads!!!! Anycase stopped now as I have to grind off the exhaust clamp joining the DPF and the intermediate exhaustpipe....
I noticed my Eolys is almost finished, my guesstimate is less than a liter.... I will have to get some rather soon. Tomorrow dropping the tank completely and fitting the sensor, I hope my speedcontrol will also function then and the ESP faultcode be gone.... and the fauly handbrake message..... I made sure it is the sensor before delving in this deep. Pics also coming soon... Might aswell finish my progress in this thread and continue in the other one in my blog.

Re: Citroën C6 rear ABS sensor
It's common practise to replace both rear ABS sensors on a C6 whilst the fuel tank is out. Relatively small cost of the part vs a time consuming job.

Re: Citroën C6 rear ABS sensor
Hi Shaun
You are right, I should replace both. But I ended up getting only one. I don't think given time of year and where I am, another will be in time, so I will have to make do with replacing only one. Atleast if the other one needs replacing in the future, the nuts and bolts won't be such a hassle as currently the biggest issue is loosening the bolts and nuts without breaking them off...
might aswell order the Eolys with the other ABS sensor. Where do you guys suggest one gets the Eolys from?
regards
