Additive not working

Unread post by Benscab123 »

Can anyone help please ?

I’m getting 2 fault codes relating to the additive system on my Picasso 1.6 hdi 2010. P1434 and P1435. Could anyone shed any light on a solution to this problem please ? It would appear to be an electrical fault or pump failure, but how do I find out which one ?
Thank you.

Are these related to your other post here:

We did ask for the VIN in that post and got no reply - and will need it if you want the fault codes explained as they relate to this specific engine ECU.

Ok, so those faults both point to the additive pump itself with the additive pump seeming to be getting too hot.
Fault codeP1434
After sales description of the fault codeParticle filter additive system: Excessive temperature or open circuit
Description of the diagnosticsExcessive temperature on the power stage of the additive pump
Conditions of activation of the diagnosticsConsult the associated contexts for the Pcode forwarding conditions
Conditions of disappearance of the faultIgnition on
Down-grade modes if fault present
  • Deactivation of piloting of the additive pump from the particle filter
  • Stopping of the cumulative calculation of the quantity of additive to be injected
Switching on of the warning lamp and/or warning message-
Main customer complaints likely-

 ouch! might be worth seeing if you can get a 2nd hand one - I've not heard of one failing before, so they seem to be pretty reliable. It does say 'part to be configured' so it may need some Diagbox time - and there is a diagnostic repair procedure for priming the pump in there as well.

Yeah I’ll have a look for a good used one. Where can I find info on priming and configuration ?
