Roger take and post a picture of the wires and plug going to the air dryer i will try to dig out some old pictures of mine, from memory they were easy to see the difference in them.
Also look for posts by Clogzz i have to admit everything i know has been copied and added to with a bit of my experience

I think that you can see the wire numbers just peeking out of the sleeve.

Not with my eyesight.
I know what the wire numbers are anyway but then again I am fairly sure that the colours do not match the official manual which is more than irritating. What's the point of them if they contain inaccurate information?

Colours are irrelevant on Xantia wiring, only the wire numbers matter.

That's what a mate said about French cars in general.
I didn't believe him. Why do Citroen put colours in their manuals if not relevant, do you know?
Most of the time they are right but sometimes they are way off.
