Peugeot 5008 Injector Fork stretch bolt torque

Post by wattsey4u2day »

Hi Guys. I have had a bit of a disaster yesterday evening (a week before our first baby is due too!). I was using the car today and it sounded a bit throaty. I thought nothing of it and all seemed to be ok. However, when I took it out this evening, I was driving along the dual carriageway and then suddenly had an almighty bang in the engine compartment, then the cabin filled with smoke along with the engine bay. At this point i thought the car had caught fire!! But it turned out that injector 2 had popped out. It looks like my injector fork 1982G2 has given way.

I know they use stretch bolts holding these down and I intend to replace the fork and bolt (along with the injector seals) before condemning the car to the scrapyard after 237,000 miles of loyal service.

My question is, what torque do the stretch bolts have to be done up to? Is there anything special that I need to do to ensure the bolt is secure? I have the DW10CTED4 engine 2.0 HDi
