C5 X7 Exhaust Silencer Heat Shield Fixings

The exhaust heat shield above the backbox is rattling because one of the fixings is missing (pictured).

There is a captive thread sticking out the middle hole (the picture does not show this well at all) but it is very rusty and probably wont take a nut or will snap if I try.

Is there a way to replace this as I can't see a way to get to the top of it?

Item 5 would seem to be the part in question - although there are no specific fixings detailed for this part that are immediately obvious....

The associated fixings can be seen though for the various other parts. It is fixed in 4 locations at the corners - so you would have to at least loosen some of the others to get the bit out I suspect.
