Now, am I hoping too much (A: Yes), but if there were a decent supply of EV charging points on our streets, the issue of ICE-cream vans (geddit?) would just melt away, would it not?

One I used to service back in the sixties had an auxiliary engine to run the ice dream maker, a side valve Ford 1172cc, didn't need the main engine running whilst serving.
I think a lot of parents will be happy at the ban, no wailing kids when the damned jingles start.
