Thermostat from service.citroen.com is not the one on my engine
Hello
As some might remember, I've had coolant issues on the c4. Turns out that it's leaking from the thermostat housing(plastic had cracked).
Now, as I have access to service.citroen, I've put my VIN in and found the thermostat and bought it. But there's a problem, my new thermostat doesn't look like my old thermostat. Opening and piping are the same but two connections on it are not. New ts is made by Facet and has removable temperature sensor but the old one has a completely different temp sensor socket. It doesn't even have a temp sensor sticking out, it has a wire in it's place.
I do remember that I've taken my in in 2013 for a thermostat recall, but I don't recall what was done at the shop.
So I would really appreciate if some can shed at least a little bit of light on this since it started leaking badly but it seems I can't find an adequate ts for the car.
Engine is 1.4 VTi, year is 2011, I'm the first owner and the VIN is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff].

Is this the one you were looking at (item #1)?
It's the one that comes up for your VIN...
I see there is a note at the top of that page about an old housing. Unsure about that.
Wasn't there a design change on one of these?

Yes, that's the one. That's the code I've brought to the shop and accordingly was given a thermostat.
I don't know about the design change, but there had to have been one
Can you somehow find the new housing code?

New housing? Lost me there. The one above is the latest (replacement) item.
Unsure about earlier version(s).

Figured it out!
I've got(on the engine) an original thermostat which is an old design.
I've bought a new design ts which has different connectors.
To fit the new ts, I need "98 043 153 80" cable.
I'll buy the cable and see if it works. If it does, I'll take pictures of everything and make a guide

I see you figured it now - but there was a modification done and a technical bulletin on it - hence the need for the harness if fitting the old type. But don't forget the clip and the seal too:
CLIP 1338C3
SEAL 1338G5
CLIP 1338C3
SEAL 1338G5

The clip and seal should be already present on the new thermostat.

Ok, they just list those along with the old sensor which gave me the impression that they are separately ordered.

I have it already.
I've got this and now I need this '98 043 153 80'.

That looks like it was designed by M.C. Escher!

Darth Vader / H.R.Giger's Alien.
Only a matter of time before it appears in an episode of Doctor Who.
And all because some bright spark
decided to wrap it and everything round it in plastic.
What happened to the little 60mm round things?

As we're all going off on a tangent I'll add mine - it actually resembles the Tie Fighter Pilot's helmet:
You'll have to forgive us Cutac - but hey, it might even work a little better!

It looks like a heart, to me.
