Xantia leaking sphere

Post by Sherbert »

Xantia 1.9 TD 97
I've got a leaking sphere mounted on the front end of the engine itself. I'm sure it near the system depressure value but I can't work out if it the accumulator sphere or an ordinary one. The Suspension spheres have all been replaced within the last 2 years.
Does anyone know which it is please ?
My engine clicks more frequently than 45 seconds anyway so I would need to replace it anyhow.
Thanks

If it's the sphere mounted directly on engine block - then it's the main accumulator sphere - same type fitting all earlier generation hydraulic Citroens.
If the sphere is fitted on a chassis part as sphere no. 2 found down in engine bay - clearly not on engine - then it's the HA2 front center sphere.

sherbert,
Where in the UK are you located. If you're near Scotland, I'll have a look if you like.
Cheers

Thank you all. I live in Oxford, but thanks for the offer to take a look.
I'm going to order the Front suspension accumualtor.
Are the Accumulator Sphere different to the normal suspension ones?

They are all different
Suspension corner spheres have damper valves. Other spheres (accumulator, HA middle spheres, A/S sphere) are without them.

Sherbert - just read thru the postings again.
It IS in fact the "MAIN accumulator sphere" you need - it's only approx £20 brand new unit from GSF - no need to hassle around for regassed or second hand units.
