Hello,
I noticed that my radiator fan runs strangely on my 2013 C4 1.6 e-HDi.
Whenever the AC is on, the fan starts running really loudly for about 3 seconds, then stops for about 15-20 seconds, and does it again. This happens even when i start the car in the morning when everything is cold.
I recently had the car at the dealer for an oil change and servicing, and i could swear this started happening after i took it from the dealer.
Any ideas what might be causing this?

Although the fan will always run with the A/C switched on, it shouldn't surge like that. Is there any evidence of fresh oil spillage on or near the top of the radiator (or anywhere else for that matter) that could of got into the electronics?
There are about 5 types of fans fitted to this model, so would need your VIN to get the correct diagram.

VIN is: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]*******
When i looked under the hood i didn't see anything out of place, that includes oil spillage.

When you say the fan stops, do you mean that it stops completely? If so, it could be a sign that the low-speed running circuit for the fan is faulty. I presume that this model has a resistor somewhere to control the low speed.

Re: C4 (B7) cooling fan acting strange
I would always suggest getting it diagnosed first to check the fault code (if any) before replacing parts - however, I have heard of a few cases where the fan was running on high speed at start up and replacing the Fan Cooling Resistance unit has cured the problem.
The fan cooling unit is number 6 on the diagram: | Fan Cooling Electronic Unit (with Resistance) Part number: 9673999880. Eurocarecar do one for £33: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/9673999880-R ... 2587889273 |

Went to the dealer, it was the part mentioned above.
