No more Picassos

Post by RichardW »

It appears that after almost 20 years, Citroen has dropped the Picasso moniker from the MPVs - they are now known as C4 Spacetourer and Grand C4 Spacetourer.

Blurb says to align with other models (there is a bigger one, just called Spacetourer based on the Dispatch van), but maybe the right to use the name has lapsed and they didn't want to pay the Picasso family more cash!

I really liked our Wicked Red Xsara Picasso 2.0 HDi in our brief 5000 mile encounter. On the whole, given the benefit of hindsight, driving it through a flood wasn't one of my better decisions!

..and effectively having to take the engine out to remove the cylinder head wasn't one of Citroen's better decisions (IM biased O) :-D

Why did the Citroen Picasso come with holes in the bottom of the doors ?

To let your self-respect seep away.

Shame.

I still remember having a lend of one of the very early ones for a day when it came in at the garage.

It felt like a spaceship to us at the time, and compared to a lot of cars seemed very well thought out in terms of making use of all the space. Seemed a vast amount of car for the money too (probably would have been around 5 years of age then) compared to the likes of a Renault Espace or Honda Space Shuttle.
Current fleet:
06 Peugeot Partner Escapade 1.6HDi, 88 Renault 25 Monaco, 85 Sinclair C5, 84 Trabant 601S, 75 Rover 3500, 73 AC Model 70.

They are very popular with the French and the Dutch as tow cars for their caravans. And even more popular with their biggest Spanish customer.
