Picasso xsara radiator and air condition fan problem
Hi can anyone help me with this fault on my citroen picasso xsara 2008. I had the radiator fan running good but lately was doing a lot of noise and I realised the fan jammed. So I ordered a second hand one and tested it working properly but now still it is nor working when I switch the aircondition. Can anyone point what else I can look for to get the fan working please. I also changed the resistor.

Have you checked the fuses?
If the fan was stalled it may have blown the fuse.

Re: Picasso xsara radiator and air condition fan problem
I had to replace the fuse on both the Xsara and the Mk1 C5 when the fans seized on those. It was one of the big maxi-fuses. Can't be sure of the value but quite high - 45A maybe?

That is what I am after where the big fuse is? I am sure it's a fuse cause all is in working order now. On the manual that came with it it doesn't seem to show where the big fuse is. Any help in tracing where the fuses are please

Post up the last 8 digits of the VIN and I'll see if I can find anything.

Re: Picasso xsara radiator and air condition fan problem
On both of our old cars the fuses were on the same underbonnet fusebox as the normal fuses. IIRC on at least one of the cars the maxi-fuses were partially hidden and I had to release the fuse box (top layer?) in order to see these maxi-fuses. Maybe yours is the same?

On my C5 it is 80A - which came as a shock as I had bought a 40A in case it had blown, fortunately it was OK.Paul-R wrote: 16 Aug 2017, 09:34 I had to replace the fuse on both the Xsara and the Mk1 C5 when the fans seized on those. You where right just found them as you said under the main fuse box there are 6 of them Maxi fuses and the 50 amp is blown. Will replace it 2morrow when I buy the part. Thank you all so much for your feedback.

Re: Picasso xsara radiator and air condition fan problem
Excellent. Let's hope that that's all that's needed. On the C5 it was but on the Xsara I found that one of the speed reducing resistors was burnt out and one of the spades (blades) on one of the relays had corroded off.

Re: Picasso xsara radiator and air condition fan problem
It was probably the fan jammimg that took out the 50A fuse.
If there are two fans, they will likely have one fuse each.
Glad it's fixed.
