I'm looking to replace my fan/aux/alternator belt. I've done a few before on the XUD/TUD but I'm a bit stumped with this one.
On my TUD I had a metal rod that was tightened with allen keys. On my XUD the tensioner moved freely with a bit of leverage. This DW8 one doesn't seem to have either.
Could anyone point me towards a way to slacken off the belt?
1.9D DW8 Dispatch: Trying to replace the fan belt, is the tensioner auto- or manually adjusted?

I'm gonna have another go with this to replace the PAS pump, so I'll bump this thread.
Do I stick an allen key in the middle part and rotate it? Or will that take the pulley off?
Edit: upon further research, it looks like the top one is actually the tensioner. Could anyone confirm?

Ken - I'm not sure if I have your VIN, (ending 443?) but there are 29 (!) types of alternator for this vehicle. Anyway, looking at the generic picture and fixings below they state the main ones as:
(5) Retractor Roller
(7) Retractor Roller
(8) Tensioner Alternator
(70) Pin
(5) Retractor Roller
(7) Retractor Roller
(8) Tensioner Alternator
(70) Pin

That looks like its holding the pulley on, there is usually something with a 3/8 square hole in it and a locknut, but on those I think its a heave the tensioner back, pin it, find the spring loaded one,
BXs since 1993 built 1.9 TZD turbo, got a S2 Xantia estate, brilliant car! 2013, Xantia HDI LX 110 2000 new car with 122,000, l C2 HDI Rusty rocket, C3 Picasso HDI new to me.

I do have the VIN, and just discovered tonight that I should sign up to Citroen's service site, not Peugeot's. I assumed Peugeot would recognise Citroen VINs, but evidently not.
I did see the ridiculous number of alternators, but now I've inputted my VIN I'm down to just this:
Struggling to see what's what on there without the context of the belt, but it does appear that (7) is the tensioner roller, and would be in the middle.
This seems to be in contradition with this diagram I found (mine looks like top-middle without the AC):
I remember that middle roler just wouldn't budge.
Do I have anything to lose by trying a spanner on the top one?
Re: 1.9D DW8 Dispatch: Trying to replace the fan belt, is the tensioner auto- or manually adjusted?
looks like you have to slacken bolt 77 then either loosen or tighten the nut at the top of the rod at number 8 to loosen/tension the belt.

Re: 1.9D DW8 Dispatch: Trying to replace the fan belt, is the tensioner auto- or manually adjusted?
Finally got it.
This was the solution for mine, although even with diagrams I was confused. I was mistakenly looking between the timing belt cover and PAS pump. Had to go to a garage to ask where it was, which he showed me for the price of a coffee.
For anyone else struggling like I did:
First slacken the tensioner using a 10mm allen key just above the tensioner
Then turn the nut just in front of the fuel pump anitclockwise:
