C5 2002 handbrake problem

hi i have problem with handbrake, after i release handbrake still stuck sometime i drive a lot and still stock, can somebody help me to fix this problem??

Try freeing off the mechanism at the front calipers. They will be sticky. If they cannot be freed off you may need new calipers. I have freed mine off a few times now though. Check that the cables are moving freely in the tubes from caliper to handbrake lever. These can be an issue as well. It comes to all C5 owners

Just had new hand brake cables and tubes today. My cables were causing my calipers to stick.

Disconnect the cables at the caliper, try and move the lever on the caliper, if sticking use a pair of grips and apply oil (start with a penetrating oil then use engine oil), lots of forward back movement. This will normally only be a temporary cure and a new caliper is the long term fix.
If the lever moves (relatively easily) try pulling on the cable to see if that is sticking....if it is then the only real solution is new tubes and cables due to internal corrosion. Replacing just the cable will be only a short term fix and is not cost effective as they will stick again, the corrosion will cause more problems even for a new cable.

Fairly regular treatment with penetrating oil followed by lube oil will make it a long term solution, mine have been ok for over two years now, I just set the suspension on high turn the wheel out reach under and spray takes a few minutes maybe once every couple of months.

I did a quick bodge on one of mine that lasted for the rest of the time I had it. The plastic coating on the cables near the caliper end had failed and of course water had got in, I squirted copious amounts of oil into the cable through the gaps on several occasions and not only did it free off but it stayed freed off, I just used to squirt some more oil in when I serviced it.
