Haynes manual tells you to use a specialist tool to remove the rod from the rack, and generic tools are available from Machine Mart and eBay etc.
However, I've heard that a pipe wrench can be use just as efficiently.

When I did mine on the C15 (& from what's been writ they're all much of a muchness) I used a small pair of Stilsons. From memory, it's only the 1st 1/2-turn that's tricky, after that it disengages & just winds out.jimmymarsbar wrote:Haynes manual tells you to use a specialist tool to remove the rod from the rack, and generic tools are available from Machine Mart and eBay etc.
