Fog/spot lights on C5 mk 1

Unread post by hirsty »

My C5 has a mesh lower grill rather than the plastic ones and I can see holes ready cut for fog/spotlights.
I assume the wiring is also in place as it was for my upgraded electric leather seats. Anybody got the spots and how difficult to fit. :)

Is it the MK I to 2004 or MK II facelift 2004-2007?
I guess you'll also need the correct lighting Stalk with Fog Light Barrel.

As far as i know there is no fogs fitted to lower bumper on the mk1. Fogs are built into the headlights on non xexon models and the xexon models do not have them.

I have fitted day time running lights in my lower bumper.

This is a mk 1 up to 2004 and has the fog lights in with the main beam and the stalk rotates to turn them on.
I also have pre cut holes below the bumper for something??. Any clues .

That's why asked which model you had. I think you are mistaking the lower grille sections for fog light blanks when they are actually just left and right air grills.

According to the Haynes BOL, the facelift had fog lights fitted as there is a section on changing bulbs which tells how to change them. It appears I have a facelift front valance. Closer inspection shows some overspray which suggests possible damage repair with a facelift part. Is this possible?

Can not see how a mk2 front bumper would fit on to a mk1 without replacing the bonnet, Lights and god knows what else………. If that's what you mean?

Do you have car from pic 1 or 2? Simples

The MK II (facelift) did have fogs in the bottom valance section as per bottom photo. I don't know what you have fitted but your mark one isn't designed for the Mark II type.
