Xantia S2 interior lights

I'm after changing the interior bulbs to LED the side pillars, ones above the doors/glove box/boot and footwell lights, keep getting different search results of different sizes and design for each area. Don't trust the bulb checking sites as they seem to place the xantia in 3 categories of year 93-97/97-99/99-01 is that right.

Thanks for the info is it T10 5w fpr the ones under the gtab handles passenger side, how do i take thepillar light covers off and the one under front passenger grab handle.

The pillar lights are held in (IIRC) by spring clips and a tab. I carefully used a blade screwdriver to get them out, but I cannot remember which way I did it (sorry!).

I daren't touch mine as I'm pretty sure the tabs will be brittle and snap off, so I'll be off to the local scrapper looking for a S2 xantia do carry out an autopsy on pillar light and the ones above the grab handle.

Why do some of the bulb sites even ebay display the bulbs as festoon for the xantia interiors?

IIRC, pillar light clips are top and bottom and are very robust and require a fair bit of easing force to release. I always went in from the top.

Thinking about it, I thing I went in through the top, as the wiring and plug come in from the bottom (and will not allow the bottom to pivot out).

I would not get LED lights, as they will be focussed forwards (in relation to the connector), and while this is OK for the sidelights, for interior lights you will need light coming out from the sides of the bulbs.

Ahh so does the bulb fit in vertically with the tip of the bulb facing upwards or downwards, I was looking at the bulbs below so not 100% sure which ones are okay..

However, I would suggest to pay a visit to your local Poundland. I have got suitable bulbs for £1 a pair, in AA packaging.

at least I can get my money back if they go kaput from Poundland...
