Intermittent beeping when indicating right.

Hi all, my Nan has a 2008 reg xsara Picasso. When indicating right, there is a constant beeping coming from the steering column. This also happens when the headlights are turned off.

Any ideas or advice will be greatly appreciated..

I would suspect a comms unit fault but i may be wrong? suspect someone will be along to correct me if i am?

Yes, very likely a Comms 2000 fault. Depending upon model, it can also affect wipers and lights coming on and off on their own (if you have the auto lights) etc. Some of these Comms units can be sent off for repair, or the whole module can be replaced. If you need help with identifying the correct part number, send a private message with the vehicles VIN number.

Brilliant, thanks so much for the advice. I will have a look about for one or see about repairs. It's probably that because like you say, the windscreen wipers have a mind of their own. Haha, tar.

Just remember there are loads of different models and revisions of these units - you have to get the right one according to your vehicle and the options fitted - hence the offer to look up the correct part for you to aid in your search. Repairs can't always be made - again depends on the unit as there were at least 3 manufacturers of the units and the internal electronics were wildly different.
