Nice car, not sure what it is but I suspect the may be a problem, the engine is pointing the wrong way!! - and has a cylinder missing!!

I am envious, I would really like to play with something like that, an old car that needs some TLC. right hand drive too, what a find!!

Good luck, and can not wait for the finished photos in a couple of years.

That's lovely! Good luck with the auction Alasdair!

two-stroke triples are lovely.. very smooth and perfectly balanced - l've had a few bikesd with two-stroke triples and the smell of the 2T oil is just magical 8-)

Auto Union 981cc, quite zippy when I last drove one but then 'sit up and beg' Ford Populars were the norm :)

Best hope you don't have to take that cylinder head off, corrosion welded them to the studs worse than C5 rear callipers.

Surprised at that. I'd have thought being a two-stroke that the head would have been off very regularly for decokes and that would have prevented the problem from occurring...

I only ever had to do one Jim, that was enough for me, had to buy a special hollow tool to reamer down between the head and the studs and soak in an abundance of plus gas to shift it.
