Water leak in the cabin?

Unread post by kentc5 »

Hello guys,

I have found water dripping, right in between the seats ,just behind the gear selector lever and .
I figured out the water is coming from the aerial in the roof.
What is the best way to approach this little leak and fix this?
I can only assume removing the aerial and reinsulating it properly?

Is there a how to remove the aerial? I do not want to make a mess of the head lining.

Cheers
Vasilis.

If you have a sunroof, access is quite simple through the removable panel between the sunroof and the windscreen. I'm assuming it's the V6 exclusive Xantia.

Yes it is the V6 Exclusive Xantia.
But no sunroof... to the better or the worst I guess lol.
Does the lack of sunroof makes things harder :(?

Perhaps this would be an easier way to go. I always used Comma seak'n seal but it's no longer available, this is an alternative from a different maker.

Don't know if the Xantia is the same but I have had this problem with XM.'s. You get the the aerial by removing the interior light, its quite simple to remove it, give it all a good clean then smear some waxoil on the underside of the mounting and refit.

No, sadly not as simple as an XM Peter, the Xantia interior lights are in the B pillars. The only access to the aerial base on a non-sunny S2 is to have the headlining down. That's not such a hard job, just have the sun visors off and the front grab handles and pull back the door rubbers and it'll drop far enough at the front to give access...

Ah right, thanks Jim  . Never had a Xantia, I thought if I was going to have all the hassle of a hydropnumatic I might as well get the biggest one.
