Xantia - LHM leak front wheel arch

Post by Jaf »

Hi folks. Just been checking Fred's front brake pads. Found horrid LHM leak. It's a rubber to metal pipe on the side of the shock absorber. The splatter has gone all over the wheel arch, wheel, cv.

Can't work out how to post pics from iPad but will try desktop if pics help.

Anyone know what the pipe is please and any advice greatly appreciated. Thought I'd seen the last of the leaks with the brake doseur. Sigh.

Thank you.

Sounds like Fred's fluid return pipe has split.Still available from main dealers, simple job,the clamp on the strut can be a little tricky without the proper tool.I used carpenters pincers with succsess

If it is at the joint often they can be trimmed back a little (as long as it stays "passive" with no strain on it)

Well finally got 1 pipe and 1 clip. Citroen gave me €1.50 off as there should be 2. Don't know how they balance the books! Hope to get the pipe for other side next week.

Anyway...pipe fitted. Lovely to have an easy job.
