C5 X7 Hydractive suspension settings

Post by osx »

Had a play yesterday with Diagbox and came across the settings for adjusting ride height. Default settings 128 steps front and 120 rear (steps are approx. 1mm each). Found also the following in one of the service manuals.

If you enter a value outside the allowed range it revert to the default 128 front and 120 rear steps.

This is where it gets interesting.

If you enter 140mm at the front and 073mm at the rear you are not changing the height.
If you enter heights greater than 140mm at the front and 073 at the rear the vehicle LOWERS both front and rear. ie 145mm at front will LOWER front by approx. 5mm.

Haven't tested it yet but will try over the weekend.

I never figured out what you're trying to do with the ride height, lower it permanently, or make it higher ... that the default?

It's hella complicated- try this thread (on C6owners) for starters:

Settings are different for the C5 but found a service guide with the measurements points for the C5. Easier compared to the C6

If you change wishbones you will have to do it this way if you don't want to spend all your time under the car adjusting the height sensors.
