removing heater control panel

Hi all, Gremlins strike again! Heater fan suddenly went onto full speed and stays there, engine running or not. Very noisy and irritating.
Read various posts and it seems to be a wiring problem. How do I remove the heater control panel? Dear old Haynes suggests removing the whole dash/facia which sounds a little extreme. Is there another way?
Xantia hdi 110 yr2000.
still no turbo.......

It is most likely the motor control transistors which are mounted on the motor, NOT in the control panel. Search the forum for "transistors" for more information. Complete modules are available on Ebay and Amazon, but some are of inferior quality (to the point of being useless).

It'll be the resistor pack that's mounted on the fan blower unit itself, not the control panel. It's cheap and easy to replace. There's plenty of threads on here about it but I find searching for them on my phone hard work it's a job I've do e myself, twice, after I've had resistor packs repaired by someone better than I..

As was suggested, it was the transistors..... I changed over the one in my Exclusive and now it is working fine! Will now have to order transistors to effect a repair!
