Part number please - anti sink sphere seal

Post by Jaf »

Fred is leaking from her rear anti sink sphere. I need a new seal. Is it 2.5mm? Or 3.5mm? Anyway when I changed the sphere last year I foolishly changed the seal, with one from my box of seals, but it wasn't quite the right size.

Thank you.

The seal is square section with a height of 2.5mm and a width of 2mm.
I've just measured a new one to get the numbers so they are accurate.

99% of the time the pipe seals are reusable, just mind you peel/pull and strands of rubber off that might be sticking out

Thanks all. Yes I did mean the pipe seal. Helps if I say it properly! Predictably I threw the old seal away. Anyways Citroen peeps can't find the seal on their computer. But I'm sure I can find another seal now that I know the size.

Thanks again.

If you have one of the old square section seals that the normal spheres use I would use that on the anti sink sphere as well. Not for sealing purposes, but to stop the sphere binding onto the mounting bracket.

Well no wonder the poor thing is leaking. I put a standard o ring in there! Sigh. I'll be the one in the corner, with the dunces cap on...
