Xantia needs some love

Hello,
I am new to the forum so a snowy hello from Norway!
I am also new to a pre owned Xantia which needs a little TLC.
I have a small list of "to do's":

* Figure out which model I have! Done - Thanks vborovic!
* Find an owners manual (it didn't come with one!) Done - Thanks vborovic!
* Fix Interior Lights. Done! Gave the prongs on the bulb holders a bend to make a better contact.
* Windscreen Wiper Fluid Hose has been cut - replace or repair?
* Drivers side rear, Passenger side front and rear electric windows do not work.
* Rev counter idles at the 3000 mark - when clearly it is more like 1000
* Fan for the heater/cooler is either on full or not at all.
* Read Drivers Side Door does not lock/unlock with central locking. Only manually from the inside.
* Aftermarket stereo install is seriously stuffed up. Left is Right, and Right is Left AND None of the speakers on the Drivers side work - Front or Back! There are other issues too...

So I think its best to start at the top of the list and work my way down. I will probably create different posts for each item as I go but I might as well begin here so...

I think its a 2010... But need some help to determine that. It was first registered in 2010 according to the paperwork...
It's a 2000 Xantia II
How do I tell what model it is from the vin?

Welcome aboard, if you share with us your VIN (chassis) number, we could tell you about your car when it left the production line ... an owners manual could be obtained from ebay (used) in paper form, or probably some folks here have it as a digital copy ... the Xantias weren't manufactured after 2002, so I don't know how yours could be from 2010 (time travel is still not available) ...

Interesting to read your Chassis is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff], where RHZ is the 110 HDi engine, but UK xantias were all VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] ....

Wonder why yours is a 2, estate/wagon prehaps?

Your rear door locking not working electrically will be the wires between the back door and B pillar inside the Rubber Grommet...

Pull the grommet out and move it back, id be quite sure you will find broken wires.

Blower motor will be the transisters on the Blower control board, you need to drop it down and swap them for news ones, or find one from another Wrecker with Air Condition.

Take care when buying replacement transistors if you opt to replace them rather than using a second hand unit from the breakers. I've heard of NPN types being supplied whereas they should be PNP type (Motorola MJ11015).
There is a very useful guide to replacing these transistors here on the forum written by CitroJim.

Thanks guys for the advice, I am in Norway so not sure as to the car's history.
Interestingly the speaker in that door is not working either so inside that rubber grommet in the door hinge area would be a good place to check. Thanks again for the tips!

Is it possible the connections at the back of the radio have either been swapped or inserted upside down by mistake?

The stereo situation is all shades of messed up - there are multiple issues, left is right and right is left is an easy fix as you suggest, but the left side doesn't work or only works intermittently. The wiring through the door rubber grommet is the first place I will look for that. Then there is the case of the missing remote control functions - there is a connector not plugged in which I suspect is the remote wires from the steering wheel but I believe I need an adapter as the stereo is an aftermarket sony with 3.5mm jack input for the remote. The antennae does not operate as it should and the adapter loom for the stereo seems to be incorrect. I am leaving this alone till I can figure out my more important and pressing issues!

Yes but it will be worth it in the end.
You've made the first and best step, by joining this forum. There's lots of experience here.
But I think you'll also need a garage, preferably with a pit, where you can work on the car in the warm!!
