What Xantia and C5 parts are interchangeable?

Carrying on from Xantos's Engine head thread.
Just what Parts are interchangeable between the Xantia, S2 in my case and the C5?

Unfortunately there are almost no parts that are interchangeable.
My comparison is based on these cars: I used to have
Xantia MK2 2.0i 16V (RFV engine) and current C5 MK2 2.0i 16V (RFJ engine).

From Xantia I was able to use H1 head bulbs, brake lights bulbs. I use(d) same type of oil in both cars where engine oil is 5W40 and transmission oil is 75W80. Same battery (dimensions and capacity) can be used in both cars. That was almost the complete list :)

All filters (air, pollen, oil and no fuel filter in C5) are different.
C5 has bigger tires/spare tire with higher speed and load factors.
No LHM but LDS.
My clone Lexia which worked perfect with Xantia doesn't want to co-operate with C5.

The ONLY things that carried over from experiance is - urm the 2.0 8v HDI engine! and - THATS IT!

Just about everything else is New/Different, even the strut tops went into a further development.. weither it was an improvment or not remains to be seen in about 10 years time when they are getting on for 20 years. Now, weither a C5 Top and strut will work on a Xantia hub and body mounting remains to be seen..

So... the true answer is.... VERY Little.
Sharing a pug 207 1.6 hdi Sw 16v.
M reg Xm 2.1 td auto exclusive S2 269k and rising
L reg XM V6 12v SEi auto .. Light project

A very sad...

Bottom ball joints are the same...

Dust caps are interchangeable. :wink:
09 C5 X7 2.0Hdi Exclusive in Perla Nera black (the best colour) :wink:

They both run on diesel....

Some discs and pads, depending on size.
Not sure about calipers - the seals might be different because of the different fluids.
