Edit: I read your signature but I was not careful enough
and the stalk removal came for a Xantia

Stalk removal is easy. You need torx T20 and T10.

- Steering wheel cover is in two pieces and fixed with 3 screws (T20) from below.
- After removing screws, take off the upper half away.
- Steering wheel position so that the 2 stalks screws (T10) can be accessed easily (see pic).
- Disconnect the connector (pushing "nails" in and pulling off the connector) of the stalk.
- Connect the new stalk and test before putting all together again.

Just a comment, I thought that the right stalk (on a Xantia) was for the wiper systems, while the left stalk was for the lights and indicators (and horn, on the S1). The OP was for the right indicators.

Think the OP said the right indicator rather than the right stalk. Still didn't say what car though.(unless the 2000 Xantia and the 2003 Dispatch van have the same system of course

True, but if you read to the end od the first line in the signature it could imply he no longer has the Xantia.

Sig implies it's for a Dispatch, which is much more likely as this is a std COMS2000 fault.... replacement is a bit more involved (and expensive!) than on a Xantia....

I read your signature but I was not careful enough and the stalk removal came for a Xantia  I have to edit my first message. Usually the current car is given in the first line and the sold/scrapped/gone car(s) added after that

It seems that (checking from ebay) Dispatch has either the conventional type of stalk or the new version COM2000 unit. If it is the newer version then it costs more and it needs more work to remove the unit.
