Tyre depots have a kind of tapered spline socket that in conjunction with an impact wrench makes short work of them.
BXs since 1993 built 1.9 TZD turbo, got a S2 Xantia estate, brilliant car! 2013, Xantia HDI LX 110 2000 new car with 122,000, l C2 HDI Rusty rocket, C3 Picasso HDI new to me.

Yep, try a tyre depot, then replace the locking nuts with ordinary ones.
Sorry, but these day's nobody wants to nick a 12 year old car wheel.

Tried all these things on my dear departed c5 with no joy. The outer bit of the bolt which guides the extractor on breaks off, leaving a worse problem. My only solution was a Good going electric drill, quite a few drill bits and lots of swear words. X4. These kind of lockers are the most despicable things I have ever seen, with maybe the exception of the ex wife. Drill them out, chuck them and replace. Much the same as wifes really  :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:

When I had this problem I took it to my local tyre shop and they had them all off in less than ten minutes, not charged a penny, a special tool and a lump hammer did the trick.

I had 2 out of the four pins broken on the locking nut for my C5 X7 Tourer and I only found out when trying to remove the wheels for brake checking soon after purchase. My solution was to hacksaw 2 short pieces off the shank of a 4mm drill the same length of the remaining pins, jam them into the nut holes and use an impact driver to remove the locking nuts. It took a few blows on each nut but eventually they came out...

I have to confess I did purchase a new genuine set of locking nuts from my local dealership (where the car came from originally) at £50 but I made sure that they were well copaslipped before fitting and were done up with a torque wrench to the correct torque (force of habit after working in the automotive test environment!!). I will take these off before going anywhere near a tyre fitting bay...windy guns eat these type of locking nuts for breakfast, breaking pins and deforming the corresponding cutaways on the locking bolt (just like Discovery/Freelander ones used to  )...
