Citroen C5 spotlights not working

Unread post by osx »

Trying to find out why the two spotlights don't switch on. According to the manual they do not work when the car is in economy mode but they don't seem to work even when the engine is on and running. Checked fuse (although unlikely as I assume it should be the same fuse for all the interior lights) and bulbs - again no problem. Unfortunately did not have the amperometer with me to check the cables but could not see any cuts or kinks.
Any ideas?

Which fuse did you check?
Mine never worked until recently. Discovered it was the fuse for the forward fag lighter. Can't remember which one exactly but in the fusebox in the driver's cubby.

Do you mean C5 X7 (2008 - ) or C5 II (2004 - 2008) also called as phase 2?
The link you have given to C5 owner's manual is for C5 X7.
( http://launcestoncarhire.com/wp-content ... s-Handbook" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; )

It would have been much easier in C5 case if it was called as C5 I, C5 II and C5 III

Yep, handbook for an X7.
As already said, front fogs will only work with dipped beam on UK cars. Anything else is illegal .
Only aftermarket boy-racer jobbies with a separate switch will work as nstand-alone.

Hope it won't be a too stupid question, but have they ever worked? If they have, maybe the light bulbs (W5W) gave out on you. I've had all ceiling light s replaced recently with Philips ones (6 bulbs in total), don't see the reason (if not for the fuse) it wouldn't work otherwise.

I found that the central light is on a different circuit. Mine always worked but the 'spotlights' didn't
