Berlingo 1.9d died while driving

Hi to everyone
I have this Berlingo 1.9d that died while driving. I did a timing belt two months ago and had no issues until now. There is fuel to the injectors, I am nor sure how strong the pressure should be. I changed the glowplug relay - same thing. I was wondering if any of you have some advice for me

Have you checked the timing belt since it stopped running?

Does the engine start with a spray of ether or WD-40?

I did, but just removed only one of the plastic covers. It seemed all good. I am going to take it all apart in a minute to double check the timing. I was looking for a way to check the timing without taking it apart, like the regular engines (not diesel), but could not find such method

you only need gain access to the cam and pump sprockets to peg them off, then peg the crank off via the hole in the crank case behind the starter motor

The timing is perfect, the belt is perfect and all that part. I actually took it apart again. I tested if there is diesel to the injectors and there is. Then I tested if there is electrical pulse to the injectors, and in each injector there was only one pulse at the beginning of the crank, after that the starter kept turning the engine but there is no electrical impulse to the injectors, therefore there will not be any diesel in the cylinder. I am thinking that is crank shaft sensor, or computer issues. Has anybody had similar experience or have knowledge about that sensor

I'd expect it to run though if the timing is right even without the needle sensor and tdc sensor it will run but very roughly. It is an electronic pump but the electronics can only adjust it so far, it should run in a fashion regardless.

I'm assuming its a DW8 as the XUD (non turbo) in this vehicle never had the needle sensor they changed to the DW8 around 99 instead.

If there is no fuel there the shutoff valve may of jammed closed (rare) or the wiring is suspect. Immobiliser is only checked during startup not when its actually running.

If possible check with a piece of clear pipe between filter and pump to ensure its not full of air too. Check EGR valve has not decided to stick open, although you'd normally have poor running first if this happened.

You will not believe what came up from this vehicle, somehow it broke the camshaft ! Even with broken cam shaft the engine turned by hand and the timing belt is on the marks. I never expected that. I am still looking into it,I will keep you posted

Sounds like the cam belt has jumped, the cam snapping is normal when the cambelt breaks, yours may have been loose, check also for cracked bearing caps and bent studs.

Was it in three pieces as the older XUD's did ? , I think the DW8 would probably do the same.

The belt was on spot, it has did not jump or was loose. The shaft was broken in two pieces. It was changed and the car run better then before.
