Spray to clean LHM filters + what is the small clip

Post by charentejohn »

Just cleaned the filters and rather than use a load of petrol I used one of those little plant sprayers full of petrol
Works a treat as not poerful enough to damage them but pushes stuff off the mesh.

One question though is what is the small S shaped clip I found in the bottom of the reservoir.
I read the LHM change guide and it mentioned a clip however, when I removed the pipe section from the reserevoir it caught on the edge and the ovel type filter came off.
I can't see anywhere the S shaped clip fits, but the guide implied it was for one of the filters.

it clips onto the small spigot at the bottom side edge of the long rectangular filter, then swings over and clips to the the adjacent housing

Thanks guys, I did see the moulding on the oval filter but couldn't see how it worked.

I may have got it eventually but it would have taken a while / forever, especially as the tubes are still connected so not easy to see stuff like that.
My original guess was it pushed into a slot somewhere so that is what I was looking for so would not have thought of that.

All going back together tomorrow then it is new rear Sphere time :)
