Drivers side piston wont wind in, using tool that fits on ratchet, winds out easy, winds in a little bit then just keeps turning,
Not tried other side yet

You may need to apply a bit of pressure as you rotate it.

How are the rear calipers?
You may be aware of the problem with corrosion forcing them out of place. It can be a bit awkward removing the retaining bolts to rectify this, but it's do-able with patience, care and decent tools.

Like PeterN said, bit of pressure should do it. Also don't the fronts wind-in in different directions?

I asked as I was in doing the same the other week and piston would not wind in on my dads Scenic but realized after 5 mins I had not removed the cap, so much easier after removing.

Another little trick can be to loosen the bleed screw, so the fluid comes out instead of being pushed back up the brake lines. Fiddly to make sure that air doesn't get in but does work. Stops fluid being pushed back through the ABS block too.

Far about £1 most motor factors and car spares shops will have a rubber pipe with a non return valve in it to fit over the nipple that prevents any air ingress.
