Re: Xantia - Replacing the cooling fan harness
Why do you need to do this Zohar?
It will be quite difficult ad it might be easier to repair what you have rather than try to replace...

Zohar,
These circuits may jsut give you some idea of the loom replacement problem.
Although for an S1 Activa, the diagrams will apply to most S1 Xantias...
Fans Circuit Diagram
Fans Harness Diagram - The important one as it shows the looms/harnesses as they exist physically...
And finally, the locations of the various components..
Hope that helps Zohar...

Re: Xantia - Replacing the cooling fan harness
One of the relay’s pin welded to the relay socket. I fixed this by cutting the wire and crimped a new terminal. For now it is OK, but from my experience it will happen again with the other relays . I have to opportunity to get a used harness, cleaned it and renew the electrical contacts and I want to install it.

Re: Xantia - Replacing the cooling fan harness
Thanks Jim the “locations” link is exactly what I need . Addo in that “locations” link it is the loom marked as E096 in the G square . It looks like I have to detach the frame that the fan motors are attached to. Can this be done without removing the front bumper ?
Thanks

Re: Xantia - Replacing the cooling fan harness
It's easy enough Zohar, provided rust as not go hold of the mounting bolts...lancia58 wrote:How do I remove the bumper ?
Remove indicators and grille.
Remove the 13mm (10mm on s2 cars) bolts on the sides of the bumper sides. These can be accessed from the bungs in the front wing arch liners. Give them a good spray with Plus Gas as these are the ones that can be a bit of a challenge due to rust build-up on their threads.
Then, remove the three 10mm bolts on the underskirt and then pull the bumper forward, disconnecting the foglight electrics as you go.
If you have a car with headlamp washers you will need to disconnect the water feed ope to the washer jets - there’s a quick-release coupling to make this easy...
Think that's it. Sorry if I've missed a step or two... All from memory...
