May help if you could post a photo Duncan.

You will find it helps if you put the details of your car in your signature, saves people having to ask and you repeatedly having to supply the same information.

Ignore the filter to ID it - Bosch has an in-tank electric pump, Siemens doesn't. So if there is a hand primer under the bonnet it's Siemens(*), if not, and you can hear the pump whirring for a few seconds at swtich on, it's Bosch.

* unless it's a 1.6HDi in which case they all have a hand primer, not sure of the maker of the injection system.

The filter type is also irrelevent! Because the Bosch fuel system has had two types depending on year used!

I know the type of filter you have - its round at both ends, however, this filter was fitted to Bosch Fuel systems from 2001 onwards...406, C5 etc

Earlyer Bosch systems had a different filter and the housing had NO electrical sensor, to look at it fits in the house one way as the bottom has a funny shape to it, so it only goes in one way. This filter house has two pipes on the "Lid" or top, and a 22mm type hex head to use a socket to undo it. Fitted to Earlyer 406's (I think) and Xantias (Defenatly)

Your type of filter is bolted to a bracket by two 10mm nuts, and has a screw type lid??

Im dooing this by recall from your housing description... Am I right?

If im correct, dealer pt. no.. VFF422

Ive got the page up, but Ive no idea how to get it on here.... :x :x

That's definitely a Siemens as the Bosch filter wouldn't physically fit.

Yes Mike, what Im saying is that Sieamans fuel filter house is ALSO fitted to 406 and C5s after 2001 with Bosch fuel system..

So that fuel Filter house is NOT a dedicated Siemans filter house...

Yes, but only the Siemens filter will fit in it, so even though it's fitted to Bosch systems, only a Siemens filter will fit, so it is a Siemens housing..

I think it's described at places like Eurocarparts as a "Siemens element type". The one I used was a Guttman brand like this...

http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Citro ... 8a8&000140" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

But the one I used on the C5 just came in a Bosch box and said Bosch on it.

That's the same as my C5. I have a Mann W712/47 filter in it, sourced at Cocker's car spares, Columbia.
