How long is it safe to run a c5 with swirl valve disabled

As some of you will recall my bargain 01 C5 estate had a major vacuum leak as the spigot that the feed for the swirl valve connects too at the vacuum reserve had been sheared off, now I have blanked it off but this means there is no vacuum to the swirl valve actuator. I have to try and tee in somewhere to find a new feed for it in the mean time how long is it safe to run with out an active swirl valve? Will it just be a case of poor fuel consumption or will it do some harm? Has any one any ideas where I could tee into to get a vacuum back to it.?
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Mine was broke when i got mine, i didn't notice it for at least 3 months and then took another month to get around to fixing it. Didn't seem to harm mine at all but mine was only running on 12 valves so underpowered.

I don't think it makes any noticable difference to the performance - to the emisions perhaps.

Wire the swirl valves shut and carry on, the engine normally runs on 12 Valves until 2300 rpm which is 70 on the motorway so you will hardly ever notice that they arn't opening. Could probably go on for ever in this state.

I ran ours for a long while and many miles with valves wired shut and it went through MOTs no prob, don't think it would affect emissions anyway, though I stand to be corrected on that. Fuel conumption no worse either. With a new actuator it just meant that you could rev it more if you needed to. Certainly no damaged has occurred.
