The STOP warning light has now come on with 3 bleeps and a warning on the dash of a 'Brake System Fault'.
Is there a 'Sure Fire Reason' for this??
I have checked the front discs + pads and they are not that low - the friction material is now the same thickness as the plate but nowhere near the sensor - yet.
Any ideas?

Is the wiring to the sensors OK. If the covering gets chafed they can 'short' and ring up a warning.

Another quick check you can do is check your brake lights are operating correctly, if the lights are stuck on the ECU's will think your accelerating & braking at the same time & can throw up faults.
Is the ABS light on aswell ?
